Why Reading Festival?
There has been, and always will be, a divide between Reading Festival and Glastonbury festival-goers. If you like one, then you are bound to be disinterested in the other. Why? Because Reading is the real thing; it’s a festival at its rawest and dirtiest.
Perhaps, if you are devoted to Glastonbury you should cross to the dark side and see what you have been missing out on for all these years.
Reading is fast, furious and ferocious. Over the years, it has seen the likes of Nirvana, The Stone Roses, Slayer, Pearl Jam, The Prodigy, Blur…the list is endless.
Reading Festival has seen some of the most defining bands of this generation take to the stage, leaving fans a wobbly mass of admiration.

A moment that I still remember now was when I watched Blur headline at Reading. They had just played Universal with 20,000 people singing ‘it really, really, really could happen…’ and I thought, I have got to write a song like that.”
